Sam Oliveira received his Ph.D. in Bioengineering and Computational Biology at Tampere University (Finland) in 2019 and completed his postdoctoral training in Microfluidics and Automation at Boston University (BU) in 2023. He is an Assistant Professor of Nanoengineering at the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering (JSNN) from North Carolina A&T State University, investigating the emergence of community complexity intercellular communication in natural microbiomes to build synthetic microbiomes and artificial microenvironments.
